  • Planner & Maintenance Scheduler

Job Summary:

The Planner & Maintenance Scheduler is responsible for developing and managing the scheduling of maintenance activities to ensure the reliability, efficiency, and compliance of pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. This role requires expertise in using Maximo and SAP systems to plan, prioritize, and optimize maintenance work orders, ensuring all tasks align with safety regulations, GMP standards, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintenance Planning:

  • Develop detailed work plans for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Analyze equipment maintenance needs and prioritize tasks based on criticality, resource availability, and operational impact.
  • Create and maintain accurate maintenance schedules using Maximo and SAP software.
  • Prepare maintenance job plans, including labor, materials, tools, and documentation required.
  • Maintain an up-to-date library of standard job plans and equipment history.

Scheduling:

  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with production operations to minimize downtime and disruption.
  • Plan and allocate resources (labor, contractors, spare parts, tools) effectively to ensure timely completion of work orders.
  • Adjust schedules based on unexpected equipment failures or operational changes.
  • Ensure compliance with pharmaceutical industry regulations, including GMPs, when scheduling tasks.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Use Maximo and SAP to track maintenance performance metrics, work order statuses, and inventory levels.
  • Generate and analyze reports to monitor KPIs such as mean time to repair (MTTR), mean time between failures (MTBF), and schedule adherence.
  • Maintain equipment data, work order history, and ensure data accuracy in maintenance management systems.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Act as the liaison between the maintenance, production, procurement, and quality teams to align maintenance schedules with operational needs.
  • Work closely with vendors and contractors to coordinate outsourced maintenance activities.
  • Facilitate weekly or monthly planning and scheduling meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and GMPs.
  • Identify risks related to maintenance tasks and implement measures to mitigate them.

Qualifications and Skills:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Maintenance Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a maintenance planner/scheduler in the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Maximo and SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) modules.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance best practices, including preventive and predictive maintenance.
  • Knowledge of equipment reliability principles and GMP standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Maintenance Planning and Scheduling or a similar field.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).
